Charuta has been working as a Professional Counselling Psychologist since 4 years providing individual counselling and conducting seminars and webinars with various schools, social organizations and community groups.
I am Charuta. I am a Counselling Psychologist. While my office is based in the city, I am based in my travels and engagements for exploration and seeking solutions. The best part about my field is interacting with people- to know them better and to learn with them about human mind and life. It is interesting to know how the mind functions and ways in which we are similar to people despite of difference in experiences and ways in which similar experiences shape us differently owing to our mental processes.
I have a record of associating with more number of organizations than my number of work years. I have a good rapport and relations with my associates, mates and peers, and warm relations with beautiful hearts around the country, who welcome me with open arms. I am basically a person whose feet are at their best when outside than in office and mind at its best when meeting people and working on new ideas.
People say I have wheels under my feet, which, as far as I observe, are slowing down to look around, these day. I was born in Ratnagiri. I have completed my basic education with my years distributed in different cities in Maharashtra and West Bengal. A geographically diverse living and educational exposure, however, isn’t worth discussing void of the experience and learning life holds for you. What influences you, and helps you grow more is encounter with yourself- the visits you pay to yourself and the truth you learn about yourself. And slowing down is needed for that. In a life when you have learned about competition and doing, what one comes to appreciate over time, is learning about staying and being. It helps you gather yourself up and be authentically you.
Psychology has obviously not been my earliest choice of interest. Dance has been an art I was primarily exposed to and developed a relation with. It has been a companion of my life. It was there with me during tough times. It has been there in my days of joy. Dance has been a true reflection of my mind. So much so, that the days when I felt lost, I lost my dance too. It has been my mode of venting out, letting out my feelings and expressing myself to myself. It was there when I was alone. And it is there even today when I have people around me willing to provide company. I’ll have to explore my new relation with it, though. But that should be alright. What brings content to my heart is that I didn’t lose it forever. It has been there as a mode of communication to me when I grew up not expressing myself much using the regular modes of communication and now as I evolve, my relation with it will evolve too, as it is meant to be.
As a part of my college curriculum, I chose to pursue a degree in Psychology, and have been a student since. Now, I conduct sessions, seminars and webinars with different organizations, basically people, related to psychology and mental health. What I get out of it is an opportunity to better understand people and share whatever health and wisdom I have received and earned for myself.
Providing counselling and training to people and engaging with different social organizations, I have been able to believe in change. I believe that change can occur, but more important is working towards achieving it. I strongly believe that youth can lead the change, an understanding of one’s psyche will be the guide and art can be a strong form of expression and influence.
